The International Film Course has English sub-titles for every film. The Films illustrate something of the lives and circumstances of people, in particular periods, in particular countries, through different genres. I will introduce each film. After seeing the film I hope you will contribute your ideas in a group discussion. There will be background notes.
‘Lemontree’ is an Israeli-Palestinian drama. From modern France we have social-realism ‘In Safe Hands’. ‘ The Lives of Others’ shows East Germany before the wall came down, in a psychological and political thriller. Polish film brings us ‘ The Double Life of Veronique’ as art cinema. Finally, The Wind Rises’ from Japan is an anti-war aeronautical animation.
