The Origins of Popular Music

From the folk music of the Appalachian Mountains to the Beatles, from early Mississippi Blues to the Rolling Stones. This is the story of the rise of blues & country music – and the musicians who made it happen. How music was changed forever – and helped to define the 20th century.

On our journey, we’ll stop off at the Sun Recording Studios in Memphis & The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. We’ll meet the legendary Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Hank Williams & many more musicians along the way….. with a little help from Cecil Sharp & Alan Lomax.

During our seminars, we’ll hear key recordings & see videos about those historic times.
